Summit provided extensive technology services and support to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), located in Washington, DC. These efforts were in support of the Information Technology Network Operations Virtual Alliance (IT-NOVA) task order as part of the Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge (EAGLE) solutions contract.
Partnered with Lockheed Martin, this $400+ million contract supported a nationally dispersed, multi-location, multi-domain environment, primarily consisting of a Microsoft and Cisco-centric environment, of over 1,100 servers, 30 remote LANs and 250 network devices.
On this mission-critical Enterprise IT Service, Summit supported DHS Headquarters (DHS-HQ), and served 20,000 users linked via DHS’s nationally dispersed affiliate field offices and inter-agency components on both secured and non-secure networks. Additionally, Summit provided round-the-clock support for this Infrastructure Program, delivering a reliable, responsive 24x7x365, 99.99% up-time operation.
In support of the IT-NOVA program, Summit provided a wide array of technology services and support to DHS. Highlighted key performance areas include: Project Management utilizing the ITIL methodology, Systems Administration, Network & Infrastructure Support, Operations Security Support, and Video Teleconferencing.
DHS is strongly committed to ensuring it has the IT capabilities it needs to meet the challenges across the homeland security mission space. Supported by this mission, the IT-NOVA program successfully identified more effective, efficient or alternative forms of new IT advancements that would provide a heightened level of performance for DHS operations, as well as forecasted new IT trends.
Using a proactive and technologically aggressive approach, Summit’s effort proved to be instrumental in many of the technology advancements for DHS’ infrastructure enterprise transformation, upgrading platforms with the best solutions at the lowest cost to adjust for seat growth and systems innovation.
